Mengyao Mia Zhang is a film editor based in LA. She is an affiliate member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild. After earning her MFA in Editing from AFI, she was successively selected for Film Independent Project Involve and BAFTA Connect North America. In 2024, she was selected by Berlinale Talents as one of the nine editors worldwide, and the only one from the US. Mia also serves on the ACE Blue Ribbon Committee for the ACE Eddie Awards and has served as a judge for the Daytime Emmys and the News & Documentary Emmys.

Her editing work has been showcased in numerous film festivals, earning wide recognition. Notable credits include Smoking Tigers (Tribeca 2023), Only The Good Survive (SXSW 2023), A Man Who Takes Pictures of Flowers (Busan 2025), Ancestress (Björk), among many others. Mia sees movies as a medium for social expression. She takes pride in assisting aspiring directors to achieve that while taking the audience on a fun and engaging journey.
